R1 000
Find the Joker will run for the duration of the season.
The aim is to find the joker from amongst 53 cards - and for those new to the game, here's how it works.
The Game Explained and Rules
The Game Overview
The Joker game commences with the board containing 53 cards – this will consist of a full pack of 52 cards and an additional one Joker card.
The Joker Board will be on permanent display in the clubhouse and locked until a draw(s) take place.
Tickets can be bought at the club house during social club events, such as braai nights. Draws will only take place at all these events.
Playing the Game
Tickets cost R10 per entry and can be purchased at the bar on event nights - this will give you an entry into the next available draw.
In order to carry out a draw, up to and not limited to 50 tickets must have been sold since the last draw although additional draws may be authorised subject to the following:
50 tickets sold = 1 Draw
75 tickets sold = 2 Draws
100 tickets sold = 3 Draws
On the last social event of the season, additional draws may be authorised by the Social Committee based on their opinion of what is a necessary sum in which to commence the new season 'Pot'.
When a draw takes place, the person whose ticket has been drawn has to be present in order to pick a card. In the event of the person whose ticket was first drawn is absent, a second draw will take place. If the second person is not present either, a third and final draw will take place.
The draw will then role over.
If the card, once revealed, contains the Joker, the winning ticket holder will be given the full prize pot. Ticket holders whose name has been drawn and were unsuccessful in finding the Joker, will be awarded a consolation prize of 1 free drink at the bar.
The board will then be placed back on display with the revealed card shown.
Once a card has been revealed, all tickets will be demolished, and ticket sales will start afresh. Thereafter 50 or more tickets sold, the next draw will take place and a new ticket holder will be drawn to reveal a card.
The pot prize will generally be paid in cash but depending on the value of the prize, it may require an EFT at a later date.
At the end of the season if the joker has not been picked, the unrevealed card(s) will be made visible on the board and all tickets will be destroyed.
If the joker is revealed and the pot prize paid out, the board will be reshuffled and reset.
Each time a ticket is chosen but fails to contain the Joker, it will be displayed in its original place on the board.
